Basketball as a Lottery?

i totally agree that we should view differences and in success in general, as a kind of multivariat lottery that's being run. Take the perfect example of some one like labron james. He neither created his physical attributes that allow him to succeed as a basketball player nor did he create the world in which basketball would be valued or even deemed interesting. So he has won a kind of lottery. But there does still seem to be this problem in how we deal with differences in ability that we will inevitably value. If i were recruiting a basketball, an n b a team, i would ill go sam for the best players. I would, i would want lebron james....
