What Is Your Recursive DNS Server?

DNS is stateless. You need to include the request ID with every diagram you send, because when you give back, how do you know that this response is for this request? So we're taking the last possible step here. We already did the top-level domain. We found the authoritative name server. And now the recursive DNS is talking to that. It's sending a query, looks like that. Although there is an ID, the query ID of the DNS, because DNS is stateless,. well, the UDP is stateless, which is what DNS is built on top.
