Eric Liu: In genetics, mistakes occur every generation. He says the textbook copying analogy doesn't work because it assumes a perfect original text that appeared from nowhere. The first textbook would have been disconnected observations about the world recorded on clay or papyrus and over more time, some connecting ideas like movement to the stars were added. Liu: Eventually no student will possibly be able to pass biology class because there'll be so many mistakes in every textbook.
