More than a third of all Americans, 43% read at the lowest two literary levels according to a 2003 national assessment of adult literacy. Parents in the United States spend five to seven billion dollars a year on tutoring programs. Tutoring programs offering additional out of school instruction to students are drawing growing number of clients as parents continue to be concerned about the quality of their children's schools.
