Persian was the language of class, of fines its wery. If you're a common man, you could rise to the rank of a munshi if you knew persians. Many hindus had started learning persian and this was an older tradition. So there is this intellectual legacy that is left behind. It's no longer a as versus them, which is happening right? This is our literature, a combined, inherited literature,. We need to translate it to make it available for for the people.
