The Importance of Complexity Theory
At the atomic level, there's no atom that we haven't breathed, drunk, or eaten from the planet. At the cellular level, our boundaries are at least as wide as the homes we occupy. So complexity reminds me of basic Buddhist insights that we are part of a seamless whole. I find myself able sometimes to interpret Dogen in ways I can't understand him when I turn off my complexity brain.
