When settlers first came to Canada, one of the first things that they brought with them was actually fire suppression. Amy says she's from Northern Alberta and there were only two fire rangers for the entire province. "I think like pretty much since we started having the big fire events in Canada, that's really what forced people to kind of look at maybe a different way of looking at fire"
