How to Deal With Compulsive Hoarding
One to two million people in North America are living in so much clutter that they can barely walk through their homes. About 15 to 30% of individuals diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder also become hoarding people or have hoarding tendencies. Treating a hoarded problem is far more complicated than simply cleaning the individual's house and throwing the offending possessions away. In cases where hoarding behavior is linked to a traumatic event, therapy such as cognitive behavior therapy can be effective.
