The Importance of Ecosystems in Fishing

Seagrass beds are really amazing for a lot of reasons, but fisheries is another really good one. They are nurseries for fish, like growing fish that will ultimately end up in other places like coral reefs that are near them. But they also are important for lots of major invertebrates like in the Caribbean lobster and conch who are dependent on seagrass habitats. Things grow up in one place and live in another place between the three of them. And so they're a very important component of that set of ecosystems.
