Spotify's Control of the Podcasting Market
Spotify has gotten more control in the podcasting market than Stitcher ever had. I don't see them ever losing that control. Fortunately, Apple still dominates. They kind of scared us a little bit when about a year or two ago they launched premium paid podcasts that are only available in Apple podcasts. That was not a great thing for the ecosystem. But it didn't have a huge impact. It wasn't like an extinction event for podcasters and for independent podcasts and apps. And hopefully they won't try to cause such an event if they tried.
