The Importance of Self-Reflection as Organizers

I think that you bring other people along with you always the importance of not taking credit for group efforts. There's so many reasons for why pedestaling organizers is not useful to movements. We want a movement where lots of people get to decide on what the talking points are and how we are represented in the world. I was thinking the other day when I got honored a few years ago for an award by the Chicago Foundation for Women, I decided to also create an event to honor the women I knew in my communities.
