Drinking and the Office Go Together

Drinking and safety are not great bedfellows. One in four industrial accidents around the world can be attributed to drugs or alcohol. Research shows that norms which encourage work place drinking can predict alcohol problems. And then there's an effect of drinking on non drinkers. A sixth of employees in norway, for example, have suffered negative consequences from drinkers around them.
