The Arthashastra and the Empire of the Moria
It has been suggested that the Arthashastra was finally written and compiled together no earlier than the 2nd or 3rd century AD. We cannot rule out later authors who added on to the original work after the time of the Moria. With these criticisms in mind, it is still invaluable work, brilliantly written on its own account. The quote that I read from the beginning of this episode comes from one of our greatest sources for this period, the Morian Emperor himself, Ashoka, or Ashoka the Great.
