What Do the Cortical Columns Do?
If you cut into a rat's brain, or a dog or a monkey's in cut through the near cortex, you'll see this same circretary. A tis is hard to believe, but there's a tremendous amount of empirical evidence supporting it. And so our research is very much along the lines of answering three questions. Ah, what do the cortical columns do? How do they do it? And how do they work together to create our perception of the world and our intelligence?
