The Tsar's Assassination

The Romanovs are murdered in the early hours of July 17th, 1918. The Tsar is really quite a dangerous figurehead in terms of Lenin's grip on power. You would not shoot the whole royal family without getting approval. There is no paper trail that proves that he approved it, but he must have done. In two months after the Kaplan assassination attempt, at least 6,000 death sentences are passed.
