Tolkien Maker of Middle Earth - Beyond
Tolkien did these drawings in 1912, just before he started writing the first poems of Middle Earth. He does two drawings end of the world, which show that figure stepping off a cliff. And then right on the back of that drawing is the back of beyond. It's this, it almost looks like the same little figure he's got a kind of funny nose and he's peering out of this window. You can just imagine what he might be looking at.
