Should the french help the revolutionaries, and if so, to what extent? Too often, french involvement is portrayed as a king who sees an opportunity for revenge and takes it. This decision, however, was by no means a simple one to make. In every sense of the word, we know that louis actions were, in every sense the word, a mistake. But just what price he would pay? Well, that was kind of dictated by how louis handled the situation in america.
