Actress Linda darnell died after suffering severe burns to 90% of her body. Her daughter lola said, i think she simply didn't want to live any more. After a theatrical engagement in atlanta, linda flew to chicago to stay with her good friend jean curtis. The house was filled with smoke, and the women exited their upstairs bedroom s to find an inferno of flames rushing up the staircase from the downstairs living room. Nearly the entire surface of her body had burned off.
