Lecture #4 Marxist Politics

Policy@McCombs

CHAPTER

Is Marxism a Doctrine of Consumption?

The president is, since capitalism is so productive, why will socialism be productive? Is that right? Well remember what he said, to what did he attribute the productiveness of capitalism to the bureaucratic, militaristic organization within the factory by the bosses? This is the source of capitalism's productivity, according to Marx. Now then, if we organize the whole state as one big factory, with everyone being told what to do, obviously we will be that more productive,. because otherwise we would be leaving it to the individual. See, Marxism is not a doctrine of consumerism. It's not that they say we need to make the poor better off. We need bread and so forth for everybody.
