How to Use the Perfusion Index to Monitor Sick Patients
The perfusion index is essentially a reflection of the amount of pulse-atidal blood in the patient's finger divided by kind of the static amount of blood. It can predict whether or not folks may get hypotensive following dialysis, things like that. So some applications are we can use it to kind of tell how accurate the pulse oximeter is. But I think it's better for hypovolemic shock forms.
