Sofia Coppola has written over 800 stories about people giving themselves permission to do things. Some of them were simple, like a woman who wanted to spend a year living in ireland and writing poetry. Others had more complex ideas such as inviting palestinians and jews to eat meals together from both their motherlands. "It's amazing what people will do if they just either give themselves permission or be rely on a coin," she says.
