The FBI's Dirty Tricks on the Klan
The same tactics deployed against the Communists and the civil rights leaders were also used to destroy these hooded races that terrorized blacks in the South for a century after the Civil War. One of those arrested, Gary Rowe, was the FBI's best informant in these years in the Ku Klux Klan. The Bureau itself played lots of dirty tricks on many of the Klan chapters. They deliberately mailed letters addressed to him on Klan stationery to his neighbors. Another trick involved the mock up of a KKK coloring book with a Klan leader saying color me fed. This is what authoritarians and totalitarian tend to do to their own citizens; it's what the FBI was doing both to the left and the right
