These instances are less about the stories themselves and more about ascribing divine origins to important people, both mythologically and historically. It's more historical than it is mythological. Generally, a way of understanding your own origins in the gods based on their region. And frankly, i find that even more interesting these days, just this reality of myth the way real people used it in their everyday lives.
