The Progression of Prediabetes to Diabetes

In the United States population, the rate of progression from prediabetes to type to diabetes averaged approximately 10% per year. So over the course of half a decade or so, a significant number of individuals with prediabetes would have progressed totype to diabetes. Even those who have prediabetes that have not progressed to type to Diabetes may have some complications that can be diagnosed using standard procedures. The more determined trajectory is akin to one where the prediabetes tends to inch forward increasingly towards diabetes endpoints.
