The Problem of Egalitarian Citizenship in India
The idea of citizenship and egalitarian citizenship in India is only 75 years old before the constitution of India came into force. There was never a time when you were equal now we could argue that there were some places in history where you know they were Gunnarajas or Janapadharas but it was an exception rather than the norm. The state especially welfare state has this obligation to look after your life if anything goes wrong so for example every railway journey will have an insurance of 10 rupees taken by the state with l.i.c. or somebody.
