Portugal produces almost 50% of the cork material in the world, which equates to 40 million pieces of like wine corks per day that they harvest. That comes from tree bark. They do it very old school, right? Like they don't use processing plants or chopped down trees. Pretty much they just use a axe and they peel off the bark off of these trees.
