The Threefold Distinctions of Love
In the summa, St. Thomas talks about sort of threefold distinction of how or how we are to love our enemies. He says that in as much as we're called to love our God and neighbor, that great command to love God a neighbor, basically our enemies cannot be excluded from the category of neighbor. So when it becomes necessary, are we prepared to love individually, particular people who are against us? Whether that's by praying for them, by bearing their faults, by willing they're good.
