The Seven Day Week in the Hebrew Bible

In the Hebrew Bible, there are no events said to occur on specific days of the week. But once we get closer in time to the Roman period, we do see Jewish sources making reference to things occurring on certain days of the day. The authors say it's possible that we see this sort of week consciousness emerging in Jews of the second century BCE as part of a religious revival. This could end up having other functions within people's lives if you're observing a week leading up to the Sabbath.
