The Importance of Earnestness in Songwriting
I was really struck by that scene of you playing her song Your mom's songs in the kitchen when you first started writing them And I think that earnestness of songwriting is what helps you be so fearless with it. Stakes are really low, but really rewarding It's like playing it for your mom or something Well, yeah, what you're saying is basically the key to unlocking it and it makes a lot of sense.
