There are unintended consequences of putting tons of load, or tons of generation in one place. All that wind over there is supposed to bring zero dollar, marginal cost electricity eastward now. But if you put bitcoin miners out there, now, all the bitcoin miners are getting the cheap Electricity. The other story is, it's kind of a zero sum game. You're raising power prices for other people.
