The Disaster Mentality in Philanthropy
The worker has moved increasingly towards gig, right? Yeah. The person who actually does the work is the Patsy in our economy. That's the dark secret of the story. And that's why the things that you talk about at the end of your friggin book, things like participatory budgeting. I think we need to have this kind of disaster mentality in our philanthropy and in our social construction. Like, instead of just having waiting for disaster to be before us and then having the equivalent of UBI,. You know, kind of a lot of the tax giveaways during the pandemic function like UBI, right? We need it now or we need something else.
