The Bi-Directional Overlap Between ADHD and Tick Disorders
Around 20 to 30% of patients with ADHD also meet the criteria for a tick disorder. Adults with ADHD have decreased cortical inhibition, which means some are less able to inhibit movements and thoughts. This is particularly true for those with hyperactive impulsive symptoms. An ADHD occurs, a co-occurs in more than 60% of children with a tick disorders.
