The Assassination of Caesar

In the months since Caesar's victory in Spain, the list of conspirators had grown to some sixty names. The plan was simple: Lower Caesar into the Senate, surround him, and then stab him to death. With Caesar planning to leave Rome in just a few days, the conspirators also set a date, the 15th of March. During the midpoint of the month, the name we are all familiar with today, the Ides of March.
