Why Some Projects Fail
If you have a stage gate process in place the most important thing is to make sure that these things are not just a formality. At each point you have to critically assess what's been done and reevaluate the investment required to actually deliver a project. These are the points at which good governance should be able to temper the exuberance of the project team. If we want to understand why some projects fail we really need to dig down into the root causes of those failures. So I'm going to go through ten of them that are very, very common that you see all the time on projects.
