The Effects of Anxiety on the Body

When you're in a hyper-vigilant state all the time, your body's resources are going to fight or flight instead of to repair. Anxiety dumps a stress hormone called cortisol into your system that messes up with your T cells and your ability to fight off even minor sickness. And for me, one of the indications I had that my anxiety was truly, truly out of control were getting sick all the time.
