I was 22 when I moved to Japan. My parents knew just from how much I loved and respected Japanese culture that I was going to move here eventually. By the time I graduated uni, my parents knew like it wasn't a secret to my parents that I wasn't doing YouTube. And they were like, you know, silently following me on my whole YouTube thing. When I quit my job as a YouTuber, some people in the comments said: 'You're making money but not enough for your dreams' But Joey says he's never given up his dream of becoming a YouTuber.
