Are You From the Ground?

In 1 John 3 verse 11, John says that Cain is of the evil one. Is John picking up some understanding of what's happening here in the early chapters of Genesis? I think that is definitely the case. Moses actually wants you to see 2 and 3 and 4 as its own unit. And so it's not necessarily about what the offering looked on the outside, but the Lord sees the heart.
