We just didn't know what was going on. And so people were trying to fill in the blanks. The span of time is really the most important part for why this captured the imagination. If we had known from Sunday that what most likely happened, I don't think it would have been a news story. It's true crime happening in front of our eyes as much as I hate true crime. There's billionaires on board. This will probably be in our children's Wikipedia deep search holes in about 10 to 20 years.
