The Importance of Worship in Our Society
In St. Augustine's City of God, he argues that individuals and societies become what they worship,. And therefore getting worship right is key to the flourishing society. What do we hold up as the highest value? Everything else will follow from that. If you say freedom, self-assertion that I decide, that's the highest value, is autonomy. Well, all right, you're going to get a certain society from that act of worship.
