Is Your Grandma a Victim of PTSD?
The conflict Fergal is referring to is the Irish War of Independence fought against the British, which culminated in 1921. During Fergal's childhood, this was still very much part of living memory. His grandma had actually been part of it. Some of her tasks involve tracking people who are going to be assassinated. She herself was put under sentence of death by a Black and Tan police force recruited from veterans of the First World War.
