Rationality: A Higher Version of Life
We have to become the most rational we can be so that we can be the best standard for them. Reason reason binds. Religio is about properly proportioning that ratio-religio. It's about caring. And what if we make machines that aspire to love wisely? That will make them moral beings through and through. We need to be able at some point to answer this question in deep humility and deep truth. What would it be for these machines to flourish for themselves? If we don't have an answer for that then we do not have any reason for saying that we know that they are rational.
