The Importance of Business Acumen in Engineering

A lot of people tell me, you know what, I don't want to be, you know, tooting my own home or my work should speak for itself. That's a fair and common limiting belief because unless someone directly works with you on your code base, they have no idea what you're actually working on,. So it is on you to educate people around you so they know what are your contributions. And then last but not least: self marketing so that people know the value that you bring to the table and you are able to get promoted or get a raise based on what you bring.
