David sent a message to Zaidak and B.A.R. the priests, saying that if Absalom were alive and all of us were dead today, then you would be pleased. He also told Amasa: "You are my kinsmen, you are my bone and my flesh" David was recalled from his post as king by King Solomon in 2nd century BC.
