Pre-Modern People Never Talked About Death

In pre-modern times, people used to think about eternity. Eternity ceased gradually to serve as the measure and focus of human actions. In its place came the dictatorship of the clock. Modern people think they're going to live forever. They don't think about death. The Prophet ﷺ said, Akhtirum Indikri, had them in that. Do much remembrance of the destroyer of delights. This is being unto death.
