In 1935, FDR held this huge press conference and he walked the American people through the Commerce Clause. Abraham Lincoln did the exact same thing. We used to be the idea was that multiple elected officials have a role in interpreting what the meaning of the Constitution is. Now we're talking about a bunch of Ivy League educated, you know, Harvard and Yale educated people who are on the court.
