The History of Honor in America
A lot of the focus on the history of honor in America typically focuses on southern or confederate honor. But I think part of what I'm trying to argue in the book is that there wasn't a big difference between northern and southern honor as we have tried to claim, says historian David Frum. For southerners, they really do embrace that ritual of the dual. And there were northern men who do old and that's what my book brings out and makes clear.
