When I was 22, we had an idea for a TV show. It was Sex and the City, but for girls who are ugly and poor. And so you can sit there and be like, okay, well, we're nobodies in Chicago. We're 22. What are we gonna do? Like write a script, try and meet someone famous. But what was so interesting though, is that the director truly did not know it was funny. He was like, this isn't this no equal comedy. ... avenues do not exist for our humor, for ourselves, for our layers, for who we are, unless we create them ourselves."
