When the field was established, they agreed that basic life support of human societies was threatened. So it was much more radical than the traditional focus on economics where you talk about environment as resource. Basic ignorance is also central to the field because we can't predict what's going to happen. And based on this, I think we have an ethical challenge. We cannot rely on economic growth to solve all problems of poverty in the world. Therefore, we have to share in this limited world.
