Some of the most common religious language that people use, whether or not they're religious, comes from the religion that they're most familiar with. So I think this is where religious language gets really messy because communities are always inventing their own kinds of special language to mark themselves out. And even if we don't call them a religion, they could still behave like a religion and create their own kind of ways of talking in order to identify themselves as a member of the community.
