You've Messed It Up, You Idiot. Now What?
Paintings often hit a stage of, you've messed it up, you idiot. You should have stopped. So i left because i had to get home for something. And as i came in through the door, i could look at this painting and see immediately what was wrong with it. I then made changes, ruined it completely, lost everything good about it,. but didn't make any improvement to it. It's not true that you've gone too far. You just haven't gone far enough yet. The point is, yes, i felt low about it, but i just, i kept going. That's hard for us to remember.
